DON’T LIMIT GOD
Mark 10:27 …for all things
are possible with God.

DON’T LIMIT GOD!
Psalm 78:40-41 “How often they provoked (rebelled against) Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert
(41) Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”
The Israelites that Moses led out of slavery kept testing God, trying Him, murmuring against Moses and God, and walked in doubt and
unbelief. This put a limit on the very blessings God was desiring to bring to them. They complained that there was no water, no food, and that
Moses had led them there to die and be put in graves. But God gave them water, food, kept them alive and fulfilled His promise to get Israel into
the promised land.
DON’T LIMIT GOD!
• Don’t Limit God • Don’t despise the day of small things (beginnings) • Don’t trust in riches
• Don’t trust in your own power and might • Don’t forget to thank God after your blessing comes
DON’T FORGET TO THANK GOD AFTER YOUR BLESSING COMES – Luke 17:11-14 In this story Jesus cleansed 10 lepers. Verse 15 says “Now
one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God in a loud voice, (16) and he fell on his face at His feet, giving
thanks to Him.” (17) And Jesus answered and said ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine-where are they?’” The one got an even greater
blessing. See vs. 19 “And He said to him, ‘Rise, and go your way; your faith has made you well’” (Also this has been interpreted “your faith has
saved you.”) The nine were made well physically. This one was made whole plus well physically and spiritually. The nine were saved from
sickness, the one was saved from sickness and sin. His body and his heart were cleansed.
DON’T TRUST IN YOUR OWN POWER AND MIGHT – Deut. 8:11-19 This is somewhat like the other story above. God was bringing His people
to the land of abundance. Success was coming. Yet to get it all, they had to work at it, to walk it out, to do battle, to defeat the enemy. But
it was God who supplied them their plans and their strength to get the job done. Verse 11-18 says (11) “Beware that you do not forget the Lord
your God by not keeping His commandments,…” When you have eaten and are full, when you have silver, gold, cattle, when you defeat the
enemy, He desires us to stay humble or else we will say as in vs. 17 “then you say in your heart ‘My power and the might of my hand have
gained me this wealth.’ (18) And you shall remember the Lord your God for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish
His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
Keep practicing, studying, working hard at what you do. When you become successful remember it is God who supplies you what you
need. Remember God! Give Him thanks!
DON’T TRUST IN RICHES – I Tim. 6:17 “Instruct those who are rich in the present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty
of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.” Remember the man in the Bible who became rich? He said to himself
that he would build bigger barns and store up enough to last many years. He was trusting in his riches but his riches could not keep him
alive. God required his soul that very night as he planned his retirement. Trust in God – not your riches.
DON’T DESPISE THE DAY OF SMALL BEGINNINGS – Sometimes the size of your business, how much you have won (as in rodeos), your business,
your church, your ministry or how you see yourself as small compared to your peers, can cause others or even yourself to despise your
beginnings. But God lets us know if we are faithful in a little, He can trust us with much. Be faithful where you are now and you will be able
to handle increase better when it comes. Keep walking by faith.
Zechariah 4:6-12 Remember “‘not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit’ says the Lord of hosts.” It is by God’s power you will do
your accomplishments and achieve your dreams. Zerubbabel was to build the temple. The beginning work seemed so small. But God said in
vs. 10 “For who has despised the day of small things?” He goes on to say that they would see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. The
plumb line was to check the straightness of the wall. In other words the wall, the job, would be complete. He started small and finished big.
You can too. Do not despise your size. Just keep growing.
DON’T LIMIT GOD
1.) We limit God by saying, “I can’t” when He says, “We can.”
2.) We limit God when we don’t walk by faith. II Cor. 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight – Walking by what we see, feel, taste, touch, hear
and smell can limit God.
3) Walking by circumstances limit God – Circumstances can change but the Word of God never changes. The Word is what changes your circumstances.
Read the Bible – get a Word from God about your circumstances – they will change.
4) Don’t limit God in prayer. Mark 11:24
5) Don’t limit God with what you say. Mark 11:23
6) Don’t limit God when you are sick. James 4:14-15
7) Don’t limit God when you lay hands on people.
• Lay hands on the sick – they will recover. Mark 16:18
• Lay hands on people for blessings
• Lay hands on people for the baptism in the Holy Spirit
• Lay hands on people to send them out for ministry and on mission trips.
EXPECT MIRACLES! – DON’T LIMIT GOD TO THE STORIES IN THE BIBLE -We are a people of God today. He still heals, fills, delivers, helps
us provide. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.”
DON’T LIMIT GOD IN WHO HE CAN FORGIVE AND SAVE – Romans 10:13 “for ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
He can save your boss, your spouse, your children, hateful people, even people who say there is no God. He can also save you and give you
eternal life. If this is your desire pray this. “God I am calling on you now. I confess I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sin. Thank you
Jesus for dying on the cross for me to wash me clean. I ask you to be my Savior and I receive you now as Lord of my life. I am now your child,
saved from hell on my way to You in Heaven. Holy Spirit teach me how to live a life pleasing to God. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.” Now read
your Bible everyday, pray everyday, and meet with other believers regularly to grow in Christ. Get a church home. (See Rom. 3:10, 3:23, 5:8,
6:23, 10:8-10, John 3:16, Acts 2:38)
DON’T LIMIT GOD IN YOUR GIVING – The Bible declares over and over “give and it shall be given to you.” As you give – it is called seed
and “God gives seed to the sower” II Cor 9:10. As you give firstfruits and the first 10% of your increase-the tithe and special offerings, God will
supply your needs and more so you can seed again. We speak blessings on you.

Psalm 27:13 (NKJ) “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

For victory in this life and for eternity we need to believe God, believe His Word, and believe His promises. I believe the Bible-it is God’s Word. I believe the promises in the Bible. As we continue to believe God, we continue to see miracles and break through in people’s lives.
I believe we have eternal life through Jesus Christ. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
I believe we are to confess that Jesus is Lord resulting in our salvation. Romans 10:9-10,13 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; (10) for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (13) for ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
I believe the blood of Jesus washes our sins away and forgives us when we confess our sins, then He sees us as righteous in His eyes because of 1 John1:7-9 “but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. (8) If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
I believe Jesus is the Healer and our deliverer. 1 Peter 2:24 “and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”
I believe we are to do the works that Jesus did. He tells us to in John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”
I believe Jesus is the baptizer in the Holy Ghost. He will fill us to overflowing with power and love to do the Father’s will. Luke 3:16 “John answered and said to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”
I believe the Holy Spirit gives us power to be overcomers, and bold witnesses for Christ Jesus. Acts 1:8 “…but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
I believe the gifts of the Spirit are for God’s people today and help us in this walk with Jesus. I Corinthians 12:8-11 “For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; (9) to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, (10) and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. (11) But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.”
I believe we have authority over the enemy in Jesus Name. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.”
I believe we are to cast out demons, lay hands on the sick for them to be healed, and speak in other tongues as we pray and exalt God. Mark 16:17-18 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; (18) they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
I believe the Lord will confirm His Word as we preach and signs will follow. Mark 16:20 “And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.”
I believe as believers in Jesus that angels help us. See Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?” Angels have kept mosquitoes off of me for years. Angels have kept my children alive in what most would have thought there was a death in the different automobile wrecks they have had from all outward appearance at the scene of the wrecks.
I believe we can speak to our mountains of challenges, problems, sicknesses and attacks from all types of sources and they will depart just like a rock thrown into the sea. Mark 11:22-23 “And Jesus answered…, “Have faith in God. (23) Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”
I believe prayer brings blessings. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”
I believe the gospel is Good News. It brings salvation, healing, deliverance, peace , victory. It causes us to win in life when we apply it to our life. Matthew 4:23 “Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.” I believe when we hear or read the gospel, we will leave better than when we began to listen-in Jesus Name. Everybody that came to Jesus needing something all left better than when they came to Him. The blind saw, the crippled walked, the greedy became generous, those apart from God came near to him, the thieves quit stealing and began sharing, the demon possessed were set free, the lost were saved, the poor were fed, the storms were calmed, people received their dead back alive. Jesus is an amazing Savior. Believe Him and He will help you.
I believe we are to make disciples that will follow and serve Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” I believe we can trust Jesus and He will never forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 “…He himself said, “‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.’”
I believe God is a good God. Psalm 118:1 and 29 “Oh, give thanks to the LORD for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”
I believe the Holy Spirit will cause us to live in the fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
I believe the Holy Spirit will lead us and guide us. Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye.” John 16:13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.”
Look at those who believed God. In Moses time when God brought the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery, twelve spies were sent into the Promised Land. Ten saw the giants there and said they were not able to take the land. Two spies, Joshua and Caleb said, “we are well able to possess the land.” They believed God’s promise more than the circumstance. Those two were the only ones over twenty years of age to go in and possess the land. The rest perished in the desert. (see Numbers 13) If you are in a battle believe God for a good report. When the Roman centurion brought the news about his sick servant to Jesus, he knew Jesus had authority to heal him. So Jesus said to the centurion, “‘Go your way; let it be done to you as you have believed.’ And the servant was healed that very hour.”
I believe that Jesus is the same always. He is still healing broken hearts, broken bodies, broken dreams, broken lives, and broken things. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
I believe there is a day of judgment for the lost who do not receive Jesus as Savior and a reward for those who do receive Jesus. Revelation 22:12-15 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. (13) I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (14) Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. (15) Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.”
What Do You Believe? That is what matters for you. When it comes to eternity it matters what you believe and what you do about it that determines your eternal destiny and the type of life you live on earth. Settle it –receive Jesus today. Pray: Dear God I am a sinner. I need a Savior. I accept and receive Jesus right now as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for dying on the cross for me and taking my sins away. I turn from a sinful lifestyle to follow You, Jesus. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Teach me to live a life pleasing to my Father in heaven. Jesus, You are now Lord of my life. In Jesus Name, Amen. Now get water baptized. Read the Bible daily. Pray daily. Meet with other believers often. Grow in Christ. Romans 3:10; 3:23; 5:8-9; 6;23; 10:9-10,13; Acts 1:8; 2:38; I Peter 3:18
I Believe and Tell Others-You can help. Our Cowboy Partners send us on the road with finances and prayers to teach and preach Jesus. You can be a part of every soul we reach for Jesus. The Bible says, “And how shall they know hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” (see Romans 10:14-15). God always blesses those who care about others and those who are involved in kingdom of God business. We would welcome you as a Cowboy Partner if you feel God is leading you to be a part of this ministry. We pray God’s blessings on you.

Elijah prayed and it did not rain for three years and six months in Israel, then he prayed again and it did rain. What did Elijah pray for? – RAIN. Specifically, they needed rain. That is exactly what he asked for and that is what the people received. The story is in I Kings chapters 17 and 18. First off, the people of Israel had turned from God. He had declared earlier that if they turned from Him and served other gods that He would withhold rain from their land. Israel had a wicked King named Ahab who along with the people had turned to worship the false god, Baal. In a contest between Elijah and the prophets of Baal, they prepared two bulls, one for the prophets of Baal to offer up to Baal and one for Elijah to offer up to the one true “God who answers by fire.” The prophets of Baal cried out to their false god for hours but nothing happened. Then Elijah called for fire from heaven and God answered by fire and consumed the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the dust and the water that Elijah had told the people to pour on and around the bull. Elijah asked specifically for fire and that is what he got. I Kings 18:39 “Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces, and they said, ‘The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!’” They turned back to God and this put them in a position to receive blessings again. Specifically they needed rain. In verse 40 Elijah executed all 450 prophets of Baal. In vs. 41 Elijah says by faith “…there is the sound of abundance of rain.” In vs. 42 Elijah gets in a posture of prayer. In vs. 43 He sent his servant to go look for rain – the servant saw nothing and Elijah said seven times “Go again.” He had asked God for rain and he kept looking for his answer. In vs. 44 the servant said, “…There is a cloud as small as a man’s hand…” So Elijah, although there was very, very little evidence of rain told King Ahab, “Prepare your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.” And in verse 45 “…there was a heavy rain.”
Things to learn from this story
(1.) Elijah prayed specifically for rain. We need to pray specifically. Do you need a job? Pray specifically for the job or type of job you need and want. Do you need help? Pray specifically for what kind of help you need. (2.) The people had turned from God and stopped the flow of blessings and instead received a curse. (3.) When the people turned back to God it put them in a position to receive the blessings of God again. (4.) Elijah was specific, and also persistent. He sent his servant back seven times to look for the rain he had prayed for. (5.) The initial report of a cloud was that it is a very small cloud. He began praying in faith and stood in faith even when the evidence was nothing at first. End result was an abundance of rain (6.) Elijah received the answer through effective fervent prayer. (7.) We can do the same as reported in James 5:16-18 (16) “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective [fervent [KJV]) prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (17) Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. (18) And he prayed again, and the sky poured rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”
BE SPECIFIC IN YOUR PRAYERS
The story of two blind men is recorded in Matthew 20:24-34. Two blind men heard that Jesus was passing by and cried out, saying, “Lord have mercy on us, Son of David.” The multitude told them to be quiet “but they cried out all the more, saying, ‘Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David.’” Vs. 32 “And Jesus stopped and called them and said, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’“ Obviously He knew, but God wants us to verbalize our requests to Him in a very specific way. Vs. 33 “They said to Him, ‘Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.’ Vs. 34 says “And moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.”
Things to learn from this story
(1.) They cried out to the Lord more than once, even when others said, “Be quiet.” (2.) He knew their need yet He wanted them to specifically ask for what they wanted. (3.) They got specific. (4.) They received their sight.
Another story in Matthew 8:5-13 – The Roman centurion asked Jesus to only say the word and his servant would be healed. Jesus, seeing his faith, healed his servant that very hour.
Thing to learn -
Ask in faith. Remember God is not moved by needs; He is moved by faith.
In Matthew 8:1-3 In verse 2, a leper came to Jesus and said, “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean.” (vs3) “And He stretched our His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I am willing, be cleansed.’ And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
Things to learn -
(1.) The leper was very specific in his asking. Be specific. (2.) Jesus is willing to answer prayer.
Also in Matthew 15:29-31, the multitudes came. What do you think they came for? The blind came to see, the deaf came to hear, the dumb came to speak, the lame came to walk, the crippled came to be restored and that is exactly what they got.
A cowboy came to a cowboy preacher, one year about 1980-1982 at the Ft. Smith, Arkansas rodeo and asked him to pray and agree with him for a new roping saddle. He was asked,, “What kind?” The cowboy responded, “A Howard Council roping saddle.” He said, “Show me one.” They walked around and found one on a horse. They prayed the prayer of agreement. This was in May. In July a few weeks before the big rodeo in Cheyenne, WY the cowboy received not only one but two Howard Council roping saddles. He received one by bus in a box, not even knowing where it came from. Get specific, ask with the right motives, keep your heart right with God, ask in faith, stand in faith, trust in God, receive your answer, give God the glory when it comes.
Have you specifically asked Jesus to forgive your sins ands to come into your life and to be your Savior?
Rev. 3:20 “Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.” He will come in if you ask. Pray this, “God I am a sinner, I need a Savior, I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my Savior and the Lord of my life; I ask for eternal life with You in heaven. I thank You that right now I am saved. Heaven is my home. I ask You Holy Spirit, to help me live a life pleasing to my Father in heaven. In Jesus name, Amen. Read Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:8-9, 6:23, 10:9-10, John 3:16, Acts 2:38.

The first “R” we will discuss here is for the word
“Receive” There are blessings all around us for us to have in our
lives if we will just learn to receive them. John 1:12 “But as many
as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children
of God, even to those who believe in His name,” (NAS).
Just as eternal life is yours to receive, so are His blessings.
Learn to say, “I receive blessings, I receive love, I receive joy,
I receive peace.”
The first thing Jesus said to the disciples after He arose
from the grave was “Peace be with you.” The second thing He said
was “Peace be with you, as the Father has sent Me, I also send
you.” The third thing Jesus did and said was “…He breathed on
them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit” And what does the Holy
Spirit give – love, joy, peace and more good things. The fourth
thing Jesus said was, “Peace be with you.” (see John 20: 19, 21,
22, 26 to find this)
Jesus wanted us to have peace so much He died to give
it to us. Our part is to receive it. People go to churches all over
the world every week. Many go in with no peace and they leave
with no peace. Some hear the words every week from the pastor,
“Peace be with you” and they respond, “And also with you.” Yet
they have no peace. Jesus said in Matthew 10:8 “…freely you
received, freely give.”
So I say to all who are reading this now, “Peace be with
you.” Now respond with, “I receive it!” And smile. I also say, “Joy
be with you in Jesus name!” say, “I receive it.” Heaviness and
depression must leave – love, joy, peace, restoration, encouragement,
confidence in God must remain.
I see people at places we go leave better than they came
because they simply learn to receive their healing, their peace of
mind and a restored heart and emotions. Their spirit is refreshed
when they receive what Jesus came to give.
They also receive power when they receive the Holy
Spirit. Acts 1:8 And you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses…”
So receive the Holy Spirit. Say, “Jesus I receive the Holy
Spirit – all the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Remember Jesus said, “…freely you receive, freely give.”
Go now and give blessings, give love, joy, peace, give the word of
God to people, give Jesus, give the Holy Spirit gifts.
The second “R” is “do not receive” (or we can say the
“R” is for reject). Don’t receive word curses. Do not receive bad
reports – believe for good reports. Numbers 13:32 “And they (10
spies) gave the children of Israel a bad report.” It causes fear,
doubt and unbelief and so all those 20 years and older did not go
into the promised land. However in Numbers 14 we see that
Joshua and Caleb believed and gave a good report. Those two
were the only ones over 20 years old to go into the promised land
forty years later.
Don’t receive word curses such as: You’re stupid!; you’re
a dummy; you’re ugly; you’re a loser, you are destined to fail, you
will never marry, etc. When a person says things like this. Say “I
don’t receive that. I am a child of the Most High God.”
The Third “R” is Release. Release your cares to Jesus.
In 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your cares upon Him (Jesus), because
He cares for you.” Release old hurts. Release a wounded spirit.
Release people to Jesus. He died for them – you didn’t.
Say, “Jesus, You died for them, You shed Your blood for them. I
release them to You. If you want to judge them judge them. If you
want to bless them bless them. If you want to give them mercy,
give mercy. They are Yours, not mine. I release them to You.” This
will bring about peace, relaxing, refreshing in your life as you get
the weight of them off of you when you release them to Jesus.
You may also say, “I release them to be who they are. I
release them to make that decision another day. You deal with
them I release them totally to You, Jesus.
These are the “R’s” that will help you greatly to enjoy life.
Let’s look at another “R” – Rest. Ps 37:5 “Rest in the
Lord, and wait patiently for Him;…” Chill out as we say. Relax.
Rest in the Lord as He works out the details in your and others
lives. Rest in the Lord. – Jesus has our best interest at heart.
I was at a rodeo when I gave this message to some bareback
and bull riders. I said, “another “R” is Ride.”
The rodeo was about to begin so I said “R” is for ride – so
go ride good. The Bible says we are to ride prosperously. So ride
to win in life. Ride above sin – ride into righteousness.
They are other “R’s” like right, righteousness restoration,
refreshing, redeem, repay, return to the Lord and repent.
Let’s look at “R” for Repent. When the people realized
that they had crucified Jesus who was Lord and Christ (Acts 2:26)
they asked in vs. 37 “…Brethren what shall we do?” The answer is
in Acts 2:38 “…Repent and let each of you be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
The Word also teaches us “unless you repent you will all
likewise perish.
Repent means to “change direction.” When Jesus
changes your heart, you will change your mind, you will change
your direction, you will change your lifestyle.
Repent and Receive Jesus. God I am ready and willing
to change now and turn from sin to You. I repent. I receive Jesus
as my Savior. I receive what He did for me on the cross. I receive
eternal life. I receive the Holy Spirit to help me live a life pleasing
to God. I release my sins. I receive rest, restoration, refreshing, a
good report. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Now read John 3:16, Romans 3:10; 3:23: 5:8; 6:23; 10:9-
10, 13; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 2 Peter 3:18.
Read the Bible and pray daily. Meet with other believers
often. Be a receiver – be a giver.
Receive and Release – We receive blessings – we
release blessings. “…for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor. 9:7.
As you release money, prayers and help to this and other ministries,
God sees it and will give seed to the sower. (2 Cor. 9:10).
You can be a Cowboy Partner with us as we release blessings and
present Jesus to the world as Savior, Lord and Best Friend.
Service: What about your group? Is there anything that
we can do for you? Let us know.
Isaiah 6:8 “Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall
I send and who will go for us?’ Then said I, Send me… I’ll go.’”
Peace be with you – Receive it.
It has been a good and busy year from the
Winter Rodeos in Texas thru the Fall.
It was good to once again be behind the bucking
chutes with Robert Winter, who I used to rodeo
with about 30 years ago, only this time we did a
short Cowboy Church together.
Robert is a pastor of Cowboy Up With God’s
Word Cowboy Church in Abilene, Tx. He and his
wife, Kim, do a good job there. They also have
arena activities at the church arena in Clyde,
Texas. I stayed over after the Abilene PRCA
Rodeo to minister with them. The people there are
always receptive to the Holy Spirit’s move, teachings
and gifts. I also ordained Robert while there
into the world of Cowboy Ministries through
Christian Cowboys and Friends (although he has
been ordained for years).
It was also good to see Lance and Candi
Crump in September Lance is a former WNFR
Bareback Rider. He now is pastor of Cross Power
Church in Cumby, Tx. They are growing and
remodeling a larger building near Commerce, Tx.
Their children are doing good at the youth rodeos.
It’s a slower pace this time of the year for me.
I’ll be at Bareback Riding School to minister and
have Cowboy Church in November in Field Store,
Tx. This has become an annual event sponsored
by Jay, Clint and Kirby Canon. Clint is going to his
first WNFR in December sitting #1 as it begins.
I will probably be at the last half of the WNFR in
Las Vegas, NV in December.
My first grand child was born September 28,

Christian Cowboys and Friends January/February/March 2013 Teaching/Newsletter

Ronnie Christian • P.O. Box 187 • Blanco, Texas 78606 • (830) 386-4936

INTRODUCTION: My name is Ronnie Christian. I am a rodeo cowboy who loves Jesus

and wants to bring others to know Him. I am a member of the Professional Rodeo

Cowboys Association.

VISION: Reach rodeo cowboys and cowgirls with the good news that Jesus loves them and Jesus

Saves. Through this, their families, friends, and the many people they contact around the world, including

ranchers and others in the horse and livestock industry will know God cares for them and Jesus is Lord.

EXPECTATION: See people saved, set free, healed spiritually, physically, emotionally, filled with the Holy Spirit, and living a life

pleasing to God.

Overcoming Anger

Anger –

You Are Not

Welcome Here.

Go!

Going From Anger

to Calm and Peace

James 1:19-20 “This you know,

my beloved brethren. But everyone

must be quick to hear, slow

to speak and slow to anger;

20 for the anger of man does not

achieve the righteousness of

God.”

Anger should not be able to control us; we are to control our

anger. God put us in charge, so let’s rule by our spirit and not let the

flesh rule over us with anger. Are you ready to be set free from uncontrolled

anger and its results? You can be a person with much more

peace and calm. Those around you will surely appreciate it and all will

benefit from your new found peace and way of handling life.

There are the type of people who just let things roll off and do not

want any confrontation at all. There are others who are provoked to

anger at even the smallest of issues. They act or react in anger and

burst out in word and deed so quickly, it is surprising and hurtful to

those around them. The one lashing out is not very happy with himself

or herself to be honest, but pride says, “That’s just me. That’s the

way I am. Take it or leave it.”

Many of these are nice people in many ways, until the anger causes

them to blow up. Once they have said there piece or tore something

or someone down, they are calm again and the event is over. But

the damage has been done to a relationship. Others are still hurting

as a result. Often it is only verbal, but this too causes much damage.

There is a away to changer. It is found in the word of God. I tell

people, ”If you are sick-eat healing Scriptures. If you are sad and have

a spirit of heaviness–eat joy Scriptures. If you are broke financially-eat

prosperity Scriptures. And so forth. So if you are angry or have a tendency

to become angry very easily, eat Scriptures that deal with anger

and being calm. Reading (I call it eating) Scriptures will change the

way we think, act, react, and live. Others lives around us will enjoy us

much more and we will enjoy them and even our own selves much

more .Life will be more enjoyable when you stop having “outburst of

anger.”

Is there ever a time to be angry? Yes, when evil and unrighteousness

surface. However, deal with the problem and get your peace and

calm thinking back as soon as possible. See Ephesians 4:26-32. Even

Jesus got angry at those in the temple; however He did not let anger

control His life. If He had, He would not have fulfilled His Father’s purpose

for sending Him to the earth.

Anger eats a person up; it can be like a cancer. Unforgiveness can

set in and the angry person becomes a slave to unforgiveness and bitterness.

It’s hard to keep your joy when you are angry so much of the

time. God wants us to enjoy the trip called life. Anger steals our peace,

our joy, and our relationships. Anger keeps us from being the person

God designed us to be. Outbursts of anger is a deed of the flesh.

Love, joy, peace is fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Anger of kings caused wars. It has caused the death or harm to

many of people. It has caused people to fail that should have succeeded.

It has caused good relationships to end in bitterness and separation.

We can fix this anger problem in our lives. First admit that you

have an anger problem, so God can forgive you and help you be set

free from this trait. I said earlier that we should eat or read Scriptures

that deal with the areas we need to change. So I have compiled a list

of Scriptures to help people who are angry or who get angry so easily.

The word of God when you meditate on it and quote it will change

your life. For some there will be immediate and drastic change. For

others the root problem and habit is so ingrained, it may take a little

longer. For most of us, we will improve greatly, although we may still

slip back to our old ways occasionally-but not as often and for not as

long and it won’t be as intense as we begin to handle situations differently.

Result will be more peace in your life and those around you.

Read these verses daily until there is a real change in your life.

When you change, be determined to be a person of peace and joy. Be

determined that anger will not rule and wreck your life and those

around you. When or if you slip back to the old person of anger, reread

these daily until you become what God wants you to be.

Psalm 39 encourages us to listen, meditate, then speak. Psalm

39:1-3 I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will

restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me.” (2)

I was mute with silence, I held my peace even from good; And my sorrow

was stirred up. (3) My heart was hot within me; While I was musing,

the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue…”

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me,

and know my anxieties; (24) And see if there is any wicked way in me,

And lead me in the way everlasting.” Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way

that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” Prov.

14:29 “He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who

is impulsive exalts folly.” Prov. 15:1 “A soft answer turns away wrath,

But a harsh word stirs up anger.” Prov. 15:4 “A wholesome tongue is

a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.”

Proverbs 15:23 “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,

And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”

Prov. 15:28 “The heart of the righteous studies how to

answer, But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil. Prov. 16:2-3 “All

the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the

spirits. (3) Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be

established. Prov. 16:18 “Pride goes before destruction, And a

haughty spirit before a fall.” Prov. 16:24 “Pleasant words are like a

honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” Prov.

16:32 “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who

rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” Prov 17:9 Note: Stop repeating

past hurts and things that were said and done-it only stirs up hurt

and anger again. Prov 17:9 “He who covers a transgression seeks

love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.” Prov 17:14 “The

beginning of strife is like releasing water; Therefore stop contention

before a quarrel starts.” Prov 17:27 “He who has knowledge spares

his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.” Prov 18:13

“He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to

him.” Prov 18:21 Note: Control your mouth. Keep your heart right

before God. What is in your heart comes out of your mouth. Use your

tongue to speak life. Your words can build up and bring life or tear

down and cause death. Prov 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of

the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Prov 19:11 “The

discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook

a transgression.”

See Galatians 5:19-23. Ephesians 4:26-32. James 1:19-20 “This you

know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow

to speak and slow to anger; (20) for the anger of man does not

achieve the righteousness of God.” Romans 12:18 “If possible, so far

as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

As you begin to change, there are times when situations must be

dealt with sternly. Keep your temper under control as you deal with the

situation or person. Some of us are more intense than others and we

handle things in such a way with our personality that others think we

are angry with them, when in fact we are just trying to handle a situation

and be done with it and move on. But be careful, it is so easy to

move past being intense to anger and go back to our old ways. Be led

by the Holy Spirit in this area of your life as in others. (Romans 8:14)

As you change, the results will be blessings and peace to your self

and those around you. Your medical reports will even be better. Your

relationships will be better. Life will be better. “Pursue peace with all

men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.”

(Hebrews 12:14)

Matthew 5:9 (Jesus said) “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they

shall be called sons of God.” Note: Peacemakers will bring up

unpleasant things; they will call or drive to see someone to talk about

things that could cause strife and division if left alone and not dealt

with. It is not fun, but often necessary. Peacekeepers on the other

hand do not want confrontation, so they just keep quiet about the

problem. It will surface sooner or later. However, the peacemaker

must keep as his goal to restore and make peace. He must not bring

the situation up in anger. There is a way to do this.

You can go from a person of anger to a person of calm and peace

and still stand up for what is right and keep things moving along in the

work place and family. You can live without all the anger. Life will

be much more enjoyable. God has enabled you to win in life and you

can overcome a lifestyle of anger and outbursts of anger. You can be

in control. You can be pleasant and enjoyable to be around. Life will

be much more enjoyable. Go in peace as Jesus told us. Put on laughter

and kind words. Put on the oil of joy. Keep your joy.

Jesus died for you to have joy. Be blessed!

As a bonus –the Bible lets us know that joy of the

Lord is our strength. Also, laughter does good like a

medicine. Anger brings stress, headaches, heart

aches, and bad heart conditions. Anger causes fights

that end up in harm. Joy brings good health. Anger is

destructive. Peace is productive.

The Word will change us. Stay in the Word

about anger (keep reading and quoting it) until it has

a positive effect in your life. You will win when you

stay in the Word and apply it to your life. I believe for

good reports in the future in this area of your life. And

it will cause other areas of life to improve also. Go, be

the person of love, joy, peace, and power the Holy

Spirit has designed you to be. Life is about to be much

better. It is a gift from Jesus. Enjoy!

Out of anger to life. Sin produces an angry spirit

toward God and others. Sin draws people away

from God. God does not want you to be an angry person

with sin controlling your life. No, He wants to forgive

you. He sent Jesus to give us eternal life and

abundant life here also. Confess your sins and

receive Jesus as Savior. Pray: Dear God, I am a sinner

who needs a Savior. Forgive my sins and all my

anger. Thank You Jesus for dying for me on the cross

and shedding Your blood to wash away my sins.

Thank You for not being mad at me. I receive Jesus

right now as Savior and the Lord (Boss, Master) of my

life. Take away my sin and my anger. Holy Spirit, help

to live a life that is pleasing to my Father in Heaven.

In Jesus name-Amen. Now read Romans 3:10, 3:23,

5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10, 13.

Cowboy Partners: You can be a Cowboy Partner

On the Trail

The trail has been good with good reports and a good harvest.

My wife, Cherlyn, and I were recently in Las Vegas at the

Wrangler National Finals Rodeo recently. We were there for

two weeks. We presented Jesus at the rodeo, the casinos,

the trade shows, the restaurants, the airport, on the jet plane

and everywhere we went. People were drawn to us on the

streets as we walked Las Vegas Blvd, known as “The Strip”.

We prayed with people and gave Cowboy Bibles out. The first

waiter that served us prayed to receive Jesus after we shared

the good news of eternal life found in Jesus alone. A young

Jewish girl who worked in a facial salon asked God to forgive

her sins as the tears came down her face and asked Jesus to

come live in her. We prayed for God to bring the right people

into her life to help her in her walk with Jesus. Two girls at the

jewelry store in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino were open

to the Word and were happy to receive prayer and a an

encouraging word to go be what Jesus intended them to be.

One said she was baptized as a baby, but now realized she

needed to be baptized on her own free will and choosing. We

told her about the baptism in the Holy Ghost also.

At the rodeo, Coy Huffman does Power UP every year for

the rodeo contestants just a few minutes before each performance.

Power Up is a short 3-4 minute Bible message and a

prayer to teach and encourage the contestants. He has done

270 before this year; that is 10 perfs for 27 years. This year

he did his 271st Power Up, and then had to leave to take care

of Cowboy Church business in California for a few days. I

stepped in to do Power Up for four performances until Coy

returned. One night I spoke on how God is “I AM”; He is not

“I Used TO BE”, or “I WILL BE SOMEDAY”, but He is present

today because He is the great “I AM”. Jesus said, “Before

Abraham was, ‘I AM’” Jesus is the same yesterday, today,

yes, and forever. He is still healing broken hearts, broken

things and broken people. I told them to ride into the arena

knowing that the great “I AM” goes with you. Jesus says, “I

am with you always , even to the end of the age.” Rest

assured that we are in good hands and our future is secure.

I am still on the Trail for Jesus and have been for 33 years. I

am blessed to have a partner in Cherlyn as we minister

together. We thank all of our Cowboy Partners who help fund

this ministry. You are welcome to join our efforts and become

a Cowboy Partner with us. Our partners have a share in every

soul we reach for the kingdom of God. Be blessed! .

Preached at the Region 10 Texas High School Rodeo today in Salado,TX. I spoke on the three worlds-hell, heaven, and earth.Hell is awful;heaven is awesome. And earth is where we make the choice where we spend eternity. Also earth is the place Jesus walked among us;He not only died for us, but lived for us to show us how to be winners and to be overcomers in life. Let’s go to the next level in our sports, our businesses, our talents, our families, and especially in our lives as we please the Father with our love, our actions, our reactions and our attitudes. Live the abundant life Jesus promised.Receive His peace and joy today. Receive Jesus as Savior and Lord to settle your eternal destiny in heaven.
