HAVING DONE ALL "STAND" |
|
MESSAGE: Ephesians 6:13 - Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (KJV)
We all must learn to stand on the word of God even when everything around us seems to be falling apart and nothing seems to be going right, and our prayers don't get the quick response we feel we so desperately need. I had to stand firm on the word of God in a serious situation and put to work what I preach. We must learn the word, keep the word, believe the word, and act on the word. The word of God has all the keys to victory you and I will ever need. My sixth child was born on May 6, 1989. A Group B Strep germ attacked him in the birth canal, causing his lungs to close down. Also, pneumonia set in. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where one doctor worked on him for 12 hours. Then it was on to University Children's Hospital in Houston by Life Flight Helicopter. He was in intensive care for 23 days, most of the time being on a respirator or breathing machine, plus 9 more days in special care. The first specialists that talked to me about his condition said. "What we have in there is a hand grenade and the pin is already pulled." It was time for spiritual warfare. My son didn't have a name until he got sick. I said, "We've got to name him Caleb because in the Bible (Numbers 13:30), Caleb said, "We are well able to overcome it", and I believed God would help my Caleb overcome too. His full name is Caleb Joseph Christian (and he is a fighter). In the natural, he was one breath away from death he turned purple twice and had CPR for 15 minutes one timebut in the spiritual realm, God had given me many, many promises and keys to victory from His word. The doctors were great, the nurses super, but I'm sure it was the word of God and faith in it that kept Caleb alive. (They told us that Group B Strep is the worst sickness they have to fight in newborn babies in ICU at the hospital.) I needed a "rhema" a word or words from God. Many of you may be going through tough times. Ask God for a rhema, a special word from God for your particular situation. Begin to read His word, The Bible, and a scripture or scriptures will become more real to you than whatever your situation is as the Holy Spirit will show you just what you need. See "Keys to Victory" on the back side. (These may help you too, or you may need to find other scripture for your situation.) I told Caleb, although he was out on medication, "We're going to get our oxygen. We're going to get our miracle." And God by His grace honored those words. Isaiah 54:13-17 says, great shall be the peace of thy children: God has a waster to destroy the enemy that comes against us and no weapon formed against us shall prosper. A special verse I told the nurses and others was Psalms 112:1-2, 7. (1) "Blessed is the man who fears the Lord and delights greatly in His commandments. (2) His seed shall be mighty on earth. (7) He is not afraid of evil tidings. His heart is fixed trusting in the Lord." These and other scriptures became more real to me than what I could see, touch, taste, smell or hear. Praise God for His word. My sincere thanks to all of you who spent much time in intercessory prayer for Caleb and my family. Caleb is now a strong, healthy young boy. Look up the scriptures for a better understanding and apply them to your situation. Joshua 8:26 shows us that we are to stay in the battle until the enemy is utterly destroyed, until victory is complete. Speaking of the word of God - Acts 4:12 lets us know there is salvation in no one else than Jesus. If you haven't settled the issue about your eternal destiny, now would be a good time. Ask God to forgive your sins and turn away from them, believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord and you will be saved. See Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, and 10:9-10. Also I John 5:11-13, and Revelations 3:20. We continue to hold Cowboy Church services and minister one-on-one at rodeos. God is surely changing lives for the good as people receive Jesus as Savior and as the Lord of their lives. Also, our weekly Cowboy Church services in our home town are doing well. People are being saved and healed and learning to walk in victory. More Cowboy Bibles are going out from here every year and our schedule is busier than ever. God is good just to let us be a part of what He is doing in the earth today.
Be a Part of What God Is Doing: We encourage you to be a part also as a cowboy partner in the Christian Cowboys & Friends ministry, or wherever God leads you to help with money, prayers, talents, or helps, as together we reach the world for Jesus. I'LL go.
God's Blessing and peace be upon you. |
